The New York Jets are currently a dumpster fire, and that is putting it lightly.
As a quick summary, these events have happened just this week:
- The New York Jets fired their general manager, Joe Douglas
- The Athletic released a report that owner Woody Johnson wanted to bench Aaron Rodgers and successfully benched safety Tony Adams
- Reports circulated that quarterback Aaron Rodgers may not be back next season
Needless to say, this is not what one would call a “desirable” situation for a potential general manager or head coach.
And it looks like word on that is out, as even coaches who haven’t been considered for a head coaching position in years seem to think they have a reasonable chance of being the best candidate, at least if former New York Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan is indicative of anything.
So, hey, at least someone wants the job, right?
