St. Louis Cardinals catcher Willson Contreras, who has been out since May 7 when he sustained a fractured left forearm, was activated off the injured list Monday.

Contreras was behind the plate and batting third in Monday’s series opener against the visiting Atlanta Braves.

He batted .280 with six homers and 12 RBIs in 31 games before landing on the injured list. The three-time All-Star was 3-for-21 with one RBI in six rehab games at Triple-A Memphis.

The Cardinals optioned reliever Nick Robertson, who also was activated off the IL, and catcher Nick Raposo to Memphis on Monday.

Robertson had been on the 15-day IL with right elbow inflammation and hasn’t pitched for St. Louis since May 19. He has no decisions and a 4.38 ERA in eight appearances out of the bullpen this season.

Raposo was called up Saturday but has yet to make his major league debut. He is batting .187 with five home runs and 22 RBIs in 47 games this season for Memphis.
